New Leaf 05:00
Just another ordinary day, Some are gone and some are here to stay. You know this life is not for every one, Never static, always on the run. Never go out, never begin Keep track of all the lies you spin. Nothing is gained if nothing is lost, Better assess the final cost. If you think they've all left you behind, Time to snap out of that state of mind. All the faces staring back at you, All the shit that there's still left to do. Let's try to remember why we started. Never go out, never begin Keep track of all the lies you spin. Nothing is gained if nothing is lost, Better assess the final cost. Let's try to remember why we started.

Boulevards and fast cars in the city Plastic dreams, sinking in the sun. All the good sons turn to bad ones, what a pity Look around, you're not the only one. Minute by minute and day by day Parents and children get farther away The more you see, the less you know There's the piper he can lead us, he knows where to go. And he says "Hey! Rise and shine. How're you feeling? Rise and shine Are you feeling tired? Rise and shine." Boulevards and fast cars Dreams abound of endless summer Try to explain why we never can contain one another. Rise and shine.

Landslide 05:23
Forever now, happens fast. In the end, she's made of glass. One more step you'll start a landslide, Watch your step you'll trip a landmine, Living fast, and dying way to early, surely... Step by step, stone by stone One more step you'll start a landslide, Watch your step you'll trip a landmine, Let me talk, a little sense into you... Step by step, stone by stone One more step you'll start a landslide, Watch your step you'll trip a landmine, Let me talk, some fuckin sense into you...

Give us your mothers, give us your lovers, give us your voices. Give us your fathers, give us your brothers, give us your pride. Give us your lives and your snow-covered horses, Stop wasting our time. Never remember, never remember What you say. You say it's time for your mother to see you die. You say it's time for the horsemen in the sky, well fuck that.

She's coming closer, Does she know i chose her? Or was it her that chose me? Red wine and vodka, She really shocked ya, Knocked you off your feet. When you give me your number, You will wonder, Why you never met me before. I was missin', But now listen, And I'll tell you what you should know... We ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody to love. We ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody to love, But that's ok! Do I impress you? Can I caress you? Can I take you to bed? Look over your shoulder. I thought you were older. Should we just talk instead? But I know what you want now, Don't be shy now, We both got what we both will enjoy. When we're kissin' Your lips glisten, And you don't want me to let go, no... We ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody to love. We ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody, ain't got nobody to love, But that's ok!

about

Moniker’s second EP reflects the band’s evolution towards precision rock and guitar based psychedelia. The songs are heavy, but maintain a true melody, with Keith Richards-esque guitar riffs supported by a strong rhythmic foundation.

Thematically, the album explores the importance of language as a tool for building communities, and the breakdown of communication as a source of alienation among artists specifically, and societies in general. The songs reflect the excitement (and frustration) of being an independent musician during such an uncertain time in American history.

Recorded over the course of only two weeks at Wadzilla Mansion in Allston, MA, “Babel Racket” is directly inspired by the burgeoning post-rock scene in Boston.
